A CNC machine tool manufacturer in China should be assessed on the work it controls: application review, mechanical build, purchased components, inspection, software options, acceptance and after-sales support. A company name, factory video or product catalogue does not show where engineering responsibility begins and ends. The useful question is whether the supplier can turn your part requirements into a traceable machine configuration and stand behind the agreed tests.
Manufacturer, integrator and trading company are different roles
Some suppliers machine and assemble the main structure. Others integrate castings, controls, spindles and accessories from specialist partners. A trading company may coordinate a capable factory without owning production. None of these models is automatically unsuitable, but the buyer needs to know who approves the design, who performs final inspection and who answers when a component or interface fails.
Ask for a responsibility map rather than a label. It should name the party responsible for application engineering, build records, CNC parameters, electrical drawings, factory testing, export documents, installation and warranty decisions.
Evidence that connects the factory to your machine
| Claim | Useful evidence | What it confirms |
|---|---|---|
| “We manufacture this model” | Build routing, serial-number record and assembly inspection points | Where traceability is maintained |
| “The machine meets the accuracy requirement” | Named test method, instrument record and signed report | How the result was obtained |
| “We support overseas customers” | Escalation contacts, remote-response process and parts route | What support exists after delivery |
| “The configuration is customized” | Approved option list, drawings and change log | Which changes are controlled |
Use the part to test application capability
Send a representative drawing and ask the shortlisted manufacturer to explain datum strategy, workholding, tool access, spindle choice and inspection. The point is not to obtain a free complete process plan. It is to see whether the proposal addresses the difficult features and states its assumptions. A response that only repeats travel, spindle speed and controller brand has not yet connected the machine to the work.
Write acceptance before price negotiations finish
Axis positioning and finished-part tests answer different questions. ISO 230-2 provides a method for positioning accuracy and repeatability, while ISO 10791-7 addresses finished test pieces for machining centers. The contract still needs the machine configuration, conditions, limits, instruments and handling of a failed result.
Shortlist the company only after technical deviations, options and service responsibilities are visible in one controlled document. CNC Tech builds and supplies several machining-center families; for a model-specific review, send the part and factory requirements.
